Even though there aren't many maps of the United States with roads and streets, just because for show them to scale the map would be as big as a building. You can still find maps of the USA with major highways, and secondary highways. These are good for people that are traveling cross country and need to find the best way to get to where they are going. These maps usually break down the major highways and smaller highways in two different colors so that you do not confuse them. The two different highways systems are called the National Highways System (NHS) and the Eisenhower Interstate System. There are also maps that you can get that don't have anything on them but the outlines of the states on them. There are many things you can do with these maps, but they are mostly used for educational purposes. It is blank because people that are learning the states can write the states down where they go. It is a great learning tool and very important for the youth of today. Many say that geography is not a very good subject with our younger people. It is said that half of our young people between the ages of 18 and 24 can't find New York on a map. And only 33% of those same kids couldn't find New Orleans on the map either.
